Who am I?
“What drugs are you on?!”
Working in a bikers’ pub to supplement my childcare job at the age of 18 I was always amused by the frequent question about where my energy came from. It seemed my natural zest for life was almost too good to be true and maybe it was one Hells Angel too many being convinced that I couldn’t be that happy without being high on something that piqued my interest in the human condition and got me asking my own question; so what is it that makes us feel good?
And yes, of course you can get there with chemicals – over the counter, under the counter or over a bar – but when you wake up bleary eyed in the morning you might wonder “Is there another way?”
Over the years, in the public sector as a nursery nurse and a social worker, via my role in the business world training blue chip companies in skilful persuasion and negotiation, I continued to be fascinated exactly how to kindle that effervescence in other people. Later I discovered the power we all hold in our own minds by training as a Master Practitioner in Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) which gave a structure to a lot of the amazing results I’d seen over the years; ways in which ordinary people could make a positive impact on the way they dealt with life’s ups and downs.
Nearly 30 years on from the bikers’ question I’m still excited to share the secrets I’ve learnt about how to feel good more of the time and how to develop the skills to deal with the everyday and the difficult situations.
I set up the company, Satori, in 1999. The word ‘Satori’ refers to ‘the moment of enlightenment’ and that pretty much sums it up – that light bulb over the head moment that has you gripped thinking “Hey, there’s a better way and now I know how!” And I just love sharing that moment with as many people as I can.
Nowadays I train groups and coach individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and professions and just sometimes I’ll get a blast from the past when a course delegate sidles up at coffee break to ask that question “Just what are you on?…and can I have some?”
The answer I give them?
‘Yes you can have some, let me show you how…”You can contact Pam by phone or email: 07974 309442 or (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
